So I walked into the fabric store and the first thing I saw was a sign that said ASBESTOS: 40% off, except it said brocade and not asbestos. But I bought two and a half yards of it anyway.

Then a couple hours later, while I was sitting at home getting stuff together for Germany, the mailman came with the Package of Jubilation from [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue that I was expecting to contain mail, my Yami no Matsuei manga, and FMA eps 39-51. What it actually contained was mail, my Yami no Matsuei manga, Samurai Champloo 1-5 (I suspect she has ulterior motives), FMA 39-51, and FMA 1-38. So after I recovered from my heart attack, I decided that if I had had any doubts about wanting to friend [livejournal.com profile] riddering (even though I didn't) before I knew she was going to burn the entire series, that certainly wasn't the case anymore. So, yes. Anyway, the package also contained pocky. I was a little hesitant at first, because to me pocky had always seemed like the Food of the Underworld; a point of no return, if you will. But I ate it anyway, and it was tasty.

And then, while I was getting started on the FMA, Teh Meghan (one of my best friends from high school) called and said that she was indeed free to get together one last time before I left. So we went to my favorite restaurant, which I hadn't gone to all break, and then to her house. We watched The Butterfly Effect, which is really a pretty interesting movie, even though most of the acting at the very beginning sucked beyond belief. But that didn't contribute to my day being the Best Day Ever so much as it did when one of her family's cats (who I had met, like, once before) came and sat on my lap. "He NEVER does that!" said Meghan. Clearly, I am a kitty magnet.

Oh, and it snowed a respectable amount last night.

In conclusion, prepare for flist spam as I post my (brief, disjointed) thoughts on FMA 39-51. The first one will be up in, like, two minutes.

Okay, then, off to watch 42-45.

First of all, I see we've made it to the fourth opening and closing sequences. I don't like the opening music as much as the last one, and the closing music isn't that great either, but the visuals! When did everybody get so hot? (Dude, Roy so did not use to be anything but funny-lookin'. Am shocked.) Anyway, I don't have much to say on these episodes, because I spent most of the time being too amazed by things to have much coherent thought. But even so...

I didn't say much about 46 and 47 because 48 was the good one (relatively speaking, because they were all wonderful), and I want to see the last three. Now.
