Here is a promotional picture and screencap of the dude in Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (squee!) who teaches the player about the new, chess-inspired logic system: Click to see. )

Apparently he's...the president's bodyguard? According to Court Records, at least. And he's an expert marksman, and chess is a hobby of his.

So, to recap:

-Light-colored, unruly hair
-Good at chess
-Gryffindor scarf

HOLY CRAP, RON WEASLEY IS IN ACE ATTORNEY INVESTIGATIONS 2.

*facepalm*

This is a disgusting abomination. What on earth could you have been thinking, FictionAlley admins? Have you no shame? Have you no self-awareness?

J.K. Rowling would be appalled by you. The woman writes Harry Potter apocrypha that makes millions of dollars and she donates it all to charity. Actual, deserving charity. She's become famous for her philanthropy. You embarrassments don't deserve to associate your collective identity with her creations.

I had actually heard of the Pepsi Refresh Project before, but when I first went there I was so overwhelmed by the breadth of deserving proposals that I was paralyzed by indecision and then decided that, whatever, I'm gonna go do other things now, since whoever wins that money will obviously be worthy. But since that is no longer true, I think I will actually have to find some proposals to vote for.

The new trailer for Half Blood Prince is so amazing. I like Harry Potter more when it's less "wacky kids doing wacky magic" than "uncovering dark and mysterious pasts," which makes it not at all a coincidence that my favorite books are the third, sixth, and seventh. Not that I don't love the wacky kids and their wacky magic.

Stuff like this makes me wish I actually watched some of the Phoenix Wright comms besides [livejournal.com profile] boobjection (although it was Boobjection that alerted me to the picture, so that's pretty cool). I mean. There is nothing about it that is not awesome, even Larry's ridiculous sailor suit that I thought was a dress at first, and it's official art. My one objection (pun not intended! I swear!) is that Franziska's boobs are a little bigger than I thought they should be; in my headcanon, her boobs are kind of on the small side, and she doesn't have such easy cleavage, and maybe I just think way too much about this kind of thing. So let's direct our attention to the other side of the image, by which of course I mean Gumshoe and his Speedo. But I guess there's really nothing I can say about that that I haven't already said in other LJ posts, so I guess we can talk about Edgeworth. WTF, Edgeworth. When the hell did this happen? If only you weren't the gayest character in Phoenix Wright...and way too awesome for my lame ass...and, uh, fictional.

People have been speculating on what a Law & Order/Boston Legal/Phoenix Wright take on the JKR vs. SVA lawsuit would look like since the news first broke months ago, but even though I can resist the (awesome and surprisingly easy to imagine) mental image of a J. K. Rowling sprite, the idea of Franziska as one of her lawyers just WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. Bless Curse you, Fandom Wank!

Oh my god, she is totally about to let him have it.

So I'm pretty sure the reason I haven't had a single fandom-related dream for the past fifteen years or so can be explained by the idea that they were all building up to the superepic dream I had last night! Which, naturally, was a Harry Potter/Death Note crossover and nobody-died-AU. And I was a pretty sweet self-insert. I am not making this up.

dream! )

A List

Today was productive.

1. I got a haircut and highlights, which I normally wouldn't do for myself, but it was a Christmas gift from my parents, so.

2. I saw a friend who, until she tells me what she would prefer to be called here, shall be known as R, and got her into Death Note. WOOHOO! Somebody else to bore silly with tinhatty diatribes on L and Light's Big Gay Love! We watched the first seven episodes of anime, and I left the first few volumes of manga with her. Must remember to make sure she sees episode 15. "YAGAMI-KUN!!! Konnichiwa," will NEVER NOT be funny FRIGGIN HYSTERICAL OMG I just watched it again to make sure I had the right episode number and it is making me laugh until I CRY over here.

Also, I got her somewhat into FMA. Mostly I seem to have convinced her that I'm pretty much a nutcase who entertains delusions of marrying Hawkeye on the astral plane. If the shoe fits, you know? BUT she is interested, so I left the first few volumes of that with her, too. FMA is just so good; I'm so happy to be getting it some potential new fans. It makes rewatching the first two episodes, which totally could have been called "Much Ado About Dead Birds: Parts I and II," completely worth it.

3. I wrote up my first LJ post of 2008. Excuse me for being lazy.

Ummm. Just so I can have some content in this post, here, have some ramblings on which Hogwarts Houses I think Phoenix Wright characters would have been Sorted into. (I did one for Death Note characters, too. They were all in Slytherin.)

OotP movie

So, most of my flist seems to have seen this movie, and now I have, too! Y'all's reactions are all over the place, although everybody seems to have found something to like about it and something to dislike. Though I seem to be getting the general impression that Luna was good, or something.

This, uh, got longer than I thought it would. )

So anyway, that's that. I'm downloading the new chapter of FMA at the moment; it's amazing to think right now that I'm actually interested in things besides Harry Potter, which has become the dominating force in my life recently, and will stay that way until I've read Deathly Hallows. God knows what I'll do once I've gotten off the internet to avoid and not tempt myself with spoilers. Speaking of which!

Q: Diana, what did you do tonight instead of homework?
A: I went to Prisoner of Azkaban, which was being shown on campus. They had a trivia contest beforehand.
Q: You won that, obviously. What did you win?
A: Two movie passes.
Q: See, being geeky is good for something, isn't it?
A: It sure is.
