Jul. 21st, 2005 08:03 pmI can't possibly beat #2 on
octopedingenue's list of five reasons why she is a supreme dork. However, I can list my own.
1. I am a supreme dork because when I was younger, I wanted to get a dog and a cat and name them Sigma and Pi. I still would, in fact, if I were still interested in having two kinds of animals at once.
2. I am a supreme dork because I went to Germany and met a ton of new people, and it turned out that the one I inexplicably decided would be particularly worth getting to know was also going to Dragon*Con. We proceeded to bond over our common dorkiness.
3. I am a supreme dork because in middle and early high school, I could quote anything from The Simpsons to the point that my non-Simpsons-watching friends would make a game of it. They'd say a word and I would relate it instantly to the Simpsons, with zero degrees of separation. I often did this unprompted. It's a miracle I had friends at all, really. (Bonus dorky point, though: my first friend at that school was someone I had met the spring before we started there, at the State Spelling Bee.)
4. I am a supreme dork because one of my plans for life is to go to China...for the asbestos shopping opportunities. Similarly, finding the Chinese import stores may have been my two single favorite moments on my trip to Amsterdam. Oh, and then there was the time when Target had all that asbestos in its dollar section, and when the journals went on clearance, I just went ahead and bought all of them (and gave the cashier a big smile as she checked them out).
5. I am a supreme dork because I was really excited to have the opportunity once to spell my name out loud in German. But since I mentioned that in a previous post, here's another: I was never more excited to learn words and phrases in German than when they helped me figure out how to translate from English certain lines from the FMA subs.
Now you do it!
