I ended up with SPF 50

Today was absolutely beautiful, so I read and ate lunch outside. Two friends who I haven't seen much of lately came and joined me. Apart from the sunburn I ended up getting, it was quite pleasant. Anyway, we were lying on my blanket talking when suddenly we all fell silent and forgot what we had been talking about, because in some not-too-distant place somebody was playing a bagpipe.

I was already in a somewhat Scotland Yay! mood after having come across a live studio performance by a fairly well-known artist whose name I never did recall on the radio that morning, and found while he was being interviewed between songs that he has a Scottish accent (now there's something worth waking up on a Saturday morning for). So we got up and walked in the direction of the bagpipe, which turned out to be coming from some random guy who appeared to be practicing. We never did find out exactly what he was doing at Agnes Scott.

The Mystery of the Random Bagpiper solved, we then headed in the direction that several people wearing nametags whom we had passed seemed to be coming from. It transpired that they were in the science building for a neuroscience convention. For future reference, it turns out that there is a disproportionately high number of attractive men in the neuroscience profession. Who knew?

We celebrated our successful sleuthing by going back to the bagpiper and finding a discreet place to sit nearby. We had just gotten comfortable when he left. Oh well. It was probably all for the best, as I needed to go to Target to belatedly purchase some sunblock.

The Extent of my Life's Drama

Hey, my Fig Newtons! I could really go for some Fig Newtons right about now! I'll just open the package and...NOOOOOOO! NOT THE FAT FREE! HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO BLIND? Oh my hour has been ruined by the fat-free fig newtons I so innocently and mistakenly purchased on Friday! Now I will be forced to eat them, for as much as I abhor low-calorie, low-carb, low-fat, fat-free, sodium-free, etcetera things, I hate food waste even more! All right, well, I suppose I had better get on with it...

Hmm, these are actually pretty good.

A Sad Day

Late this morning, Roy joined the choir invisible. He has ceased to be, and is now an ex-betta fish. Roy was preceded in death by his special friend Archduke Ferdinand. He is survived by myrtlelarson and flutingfrenzy. Services were held this afternoon in the doorframe, followed by interment in the second toilet from the left. Memorials preferred in the form of cash, small bills if possible.
