logicbuttonLook, I'm alive! And, as of a few days ago, caught up with the FMA manga. So here are some thoughts on those last ten chapters, as well as a couple from my reread of the first forty.
...Are any of you guys actually reading the manga? You totally should, if only so that someone will be able to click on the cut.Also because there is more Hawkeye.
Starting with chapter 35--
Ch. 35: This is not a happy chapter. Even on the reread, knowing that it all turns out okay, it's still not a happy chapter.
Ch. 38: I love how Fury and Black Hayate are a team. They are Team Adorable.
Ch. 39: Oh my god. HAWKEYE. Reality check, please.* You are awesome. Even if you can't find a betterlay cause to support, there has got to be something out there that you can live for if Roy dies.
Ch. 40: *gives Havoc a hug* Look, Havoc. I'll make you a deal: become a real person, and I'll totally date you. I've seen enough of you to know that I would, and here are two reasons why you should date me:
1) My boobies are bigger than I previously thought.
2) I won't try to kill you.
Ch. 41: Man, Ross really did not get a good deal here. I kind of want to give her and Broche hugs or possibly brownies.
Ch. 42: *gives Havoc another hug* Lots of hug-giving lately. Poor Havoc, he needs it.
Ch. 43: Hahahahaha May Chen's Ed is a total dandy.
Ch. 44: Guh! Havoc! Breda and Hawkeye, give Havoc hugs!
Ch. 44: Armstrong is a master of subtlety, he is. Just look at him keep secrets!
Ch. 45: Well, it was only a matter of time before Ed lost his mind. I can just see Roy and Hawkeye facepalming when they heard about it.
Ch. 47: Excuse me while I do a happy-dance at EdWin tension being canon.
Ch. 47: And, also? I don't have very strong feelings either way on Scar, but I adore his relationship with his brother. It's the kind of family love that makes me heart Ed-and-Al, Fruits Basket, and Lilo and Stitch.
Ch. 49: Okay, okay, I get it! Ling and Ran Fan are Roy and Hawkeye.** You can stop beating me over the head with it now.
Ch. 49: Heh, Envy can be really cute sometimes when he's not being a bastard.
Ch. 50: Did they just have sex or what! And that conversation outside HQ was the cutest thing ever. Roy and Hawkeye are totally in love. In related news, maybe this was just wishful shippy thinking, but...was he thinking about her when remembering Hughes? It seems out of place in context, but Hughes was definitely saying that as a lead-in to telling Roy to get married, and that look on his face...
I'm so glad I read the manga.
*Why yes, there is irony in my saying that while lecturing a fictional character.
**Who, in turn, are Mulder and Scully. So Ling = Mulder?
