Okay, going to eight different bookstores a total of about ten times over three days should really be far too much effort to put into finding a book. On Tuesday, Teh Christina and I woke up on an air mattress in Teh Matt's dorm room at 6:45 am, left at 8 and went to breakfast at Perkins, went to the Appleton, WI Target at 9:00 to buy OotP in paperback, and then went to the Appleton B&N on a lark. They did not have Fruits Basket Volume 4 with my fictional babydaddy on the cover, but I was only kinda disappointed since it was only like 9:30 am and I had my paperback OotP to comfort me in this time of trial besides. So okay. Teh Christina and I made the 5 1/2-hour drive back to Eagan, getting back at 3:30. Of course, the brother immediately wanted to be driven to a friend's house, so I took him, and then had to make a decision about whether I wanted to eat for the first time since 8:30 that morning or go on a quest for FB4. Food...manga. Food...manga. Well, the Eagan B&N didn't have it. The Mall of America B&N and Atlantic Book Warehouse didn't have it. Neither did the Apple Valley B&N. At this point, I forced myself to go home, since it had come to my attention that I was really in no condition to be on the road.

So yesterday, I got up at the crack of noon after making up for the sleep deprivation experienced while in that crazy backwards state of Wisconsin. I went to the Eagan B&N again, to the MoA B&N again, and then to Burnsville to check out their B&N and B. Dalton. None of them had Fruits Basket Volume 4, though they all seemed to have about twenty copies of Volumes 3 and 1. It was all very disappointing.

Then today, the brother and I were in Roseville. He needed food, so we stopped at the Rosedale mall. Our entrance went right past a B. Dalton, so I gave him some cash and sent him on his merry way while I went on to find yet another twenty copies of Volume 3. According to the mall directory, there was one other bookstore in the mall: a Waldenbooks on the first floor. So I went down there, and almost immediately saw about a million Shigures looking all come-hither-like on one of the manga shelves. So [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue has been proven right about the merits of Waldenbooks, and I will be making the forty-minute drive to Roseville for all my future manga needs while in the Twin Cities.

Then about two minutes after I left Waldenbooks feeling very proud of myself, I found an ENTIRE ASBESTOS STORE OMG. In addition to making the forty-minute drive to Rosedale for all my future Twin Cities manga needs, I will be making the forty-minute drive to Rosedale for all my future Twin Cities asbestos needs. The End.

In other news, I leave for school in four days and, like, six hours. Oy.
