Here's what I say:
"I have a term paper due that Friday."
Here's what K. in Admissions hears:
"Sure, I'll host two prospectives on Thursday night."

Here's what a wanky person involved in the racism discussion on public folders says:
[in response to] "The definition of racism as offered by dictionary.com (no, it's not perfect, but I think it gives a good idea of the definitions that are generally accepted.)"
"I don't care what's generally accepted. General acceptance leads people to believe that 5'11, 115 lb. women who starve themselves are beautiful [snipped several more examples]....So no, I don't base any of my viewpoints on general acceptance because general acceptance is flawed."
Here's what I read:
"Screw your 'dictionary definition'. Only I may define racism."

Here's what I write on a requisition form:

[My Name]
"Box 926, [My Name]" (in response to "where should the check be sent?")
"Agnes Scott College Faust Club" (in response to their questions regarding my reason for giving them a bunch of receipts and asking them for $110)
Here's the message Accounting leaves on my voicemail:
"...We still can't tell...do we make the check out to you?..."

Here's what goes on in my mind:
"Gee, I sure have a lot of stuff to write this week."
Here's what goes on in my computer's mind:
"Now would be a good time to give her a scary stop error screen every time she tries to do anything."
