Home with bronchitis today. The good news is that I met all my deadlines yesterday. It's like my body works with my schedule to make me sick at times that are convenient for me.
I went to the state fair on Saturday. Actually, I woke up at 6:00 dreaming about work, lay in bed for half an hour before I caught myself thinking about work, decided that it was a sign that I should stay at the fair for as long as I could remain upright, and then went. It was my first time going alone, and you guys, it turns out that that is totally the way to be. Definitely worth the probability that I caught my bronchitis there. Among other things, I saw all the animals, rode the skyride, ate an enormous corn dog (I think mine was maybe even a little bigger, actually) at like ten in the morning (I thought, oh hey, I could go for a snack--how about a corn dog? So I found a booth and asked for one without looking at them first, and the guy was like, "SEVEN DOLLARS," and I did a double take), saw some piglets being born, and donated blood. Donating blood at the fair was a great idea--aside from the obvious feelings of do-goodery, I got to lie down with my feet up and got free snacks and drinks afterwards. I ended up being there from about 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
I finished Professor Layton last night. Despite the plot holes and the vague sexism, it was really fantastic. I do love how genre-savvy Layton is, like ( spoilers )
EDIT: I have a fever of 101.3 degrees.
EDIT 2: Fever is 102. Holy crap. Going to bed now.
