The Kidnapped Turnabout
Feb. 28th, 2010 07:32 pmListen to the rhythm of "March 14, 11:13 AM/????????????"! Catchy!
Oh, the Blue Badger's theme sounds exactly like its orchestral version!
I love these stills of Edgeworth in the haunted house. So attractive.
AAAAAAAAAAAAUGH HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT THE BADGER AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
"[T]he powerful zaibatsu"? Capcom, did you forget to translate the whole game?
Is this music playing supposed to be Kay's theme? I think an orchestral version of it would sound awesome. Must hear!
!!! Oh, man! We are definitely getting our money's worth out of these Kinkworth sprites. I can't wait to see how Edgeworth bending over with his hands behind his back is going to be shoehorned into the next case.
So! You know who Kay's character design reminds me of? ... ... .......Phoenix. ...You heard me. I look at Kay, and I see a younger, genderswapped Phoenix Wright. You're welcome.
"[R]elevant to my interest[s]." Edgeworth's speech patterns: inspired by lolcats.
Okay, so it's totally crazy that Kay mentioned that the Blue Badger has "badge" in his name, because I definitely just facepalmed at myself not five minutes ago when I realized that of course "Badger" refers to being shaped like a badge, and not the small mammal it looks nothing like. FML.
It's not very tactful of Kay to imply that the Pink Badger is female just because she's pink, considering who she's talking to. I love how he's all defensive about it.
"I'm gonna show you just how much of a man Dick Gumshoe can be!" And with that, Ace Attorney has crossed the fine line between video game and gay porn. It is now gay porn.
I am seeing some awesome ship potential for Edgeworth and Lang. Intense UST is intense.
Aww, poor Gumshoe! Dragged off kicking and screaming. Sigh.
So, like, I'm totally serious about Kay. Really. Are we sure Phoenix doesn't have any family named Faraday? Or, I mean, that could even be a pseudonym.
"If you're going to steal anything, at least keep your hands off of my lines." Hee, so meta! I love how he keeps going with it, too; Edgeworth, you're such a closet nerd.
Wow, Tactworth is super gracious about discussing von Karma. Doesn't Amano ever wonder why he hasn't heard from his buddy Manfred for a few years?
HOLY SHIT, IT'S MEEKINS!
Ohh, so I guess this does take place before Phoenix is disbarred, because by the time of that trial, Meekins has been fired and is a bailiff. But here he's still an officer. This must take place almost immediately after T&T, then, because I think there was a window of only a few months between that and Phoenix's disbarment. I thought Edgeworth was coming back to the US after kind of a long time away in this game, though? Whatever.
Oooh, the game answered my question about Oliver Deacon! I was wondering what the significance of his name might be, since this is a Phoenix Wright game and all. Now I get to wonder what "Colin Devorae" might mean.
Haha! Edgeworth is inspiring frothing desire in the female masses! Again.
Edgeworth is so horrified by Lauren Paups that it's actually kind of cute.
Nnnnnngh Edgeworth and Lang are RADIATING UST.
I am sort of in love with Lang's theme. Sort of a lot. Okay, actually really a whole lot.
Man, how do they do it? Kay and Lang have only just appeared on the scene and immediately got all up in my face, which I tend to be suspicious of in most fiction, and I love them both already. Ace Attorney, grammar aside, you are all right.
...Actually, you know what? I am 95% sure it has to do with their theme songs. Not even kidding; there's precedent and everything. If I like the theme song, I'll probably like the character. (Though only as a character; whether I like him or her as a person is a different matter entirely.) And I'm really enjoying both of their theme songs.
Oh, Capcom. Edgeworth would never say "milleniums." The More You Know.
Lang called Edgeworth a pretty boy! And fancy! Man, I'd present their profiles to each other, if you know what I mean.
EMA EMA EMA! I forgot she was in this game! With her old-school theme and everything! Oh crap, I just realized that she's only 18 here, so she hasn't had her soul crushed yet. Nooo, this is just going to make me sad, like when I was playing Phoenix's last trial in AJ. Or maybe I could stop writing this and get back to the game so she can introduce herself.
Awww, Ema is so cute. She must be so excited to be talking to Edgeworth.
"Please don't tease me, Mr. Edgeworth. I still have a long way to go." She exaggerates, but it's true. I believe the exact words I used to describe her in AJ were "brain-breakingly hot."
Oh. My. God. ...It's Wendy Oldbag.
...I'm actually kind of happy to see her. I must be getting nostalgic for the first game.
"Nooooo! Why HER!? Why HERE!? Why NOW!?" Oldbag's appearance is worth it just for this.
Oh my goodness! The stage is set up for a Gavinners concert! But I don't think I hope Klavier is in this game, because his hair at this age looks stupid. On the other hand, I will never say no to more Klavier. Maybe he's the one in the Proto Badger costume.
*Sigh* Okay, yes, I saw the Troupe Gramarye sign. Capcom, this is starting to get old.
I see Viola Cadaverini has gotten over Tigre. Perhaps now Edgeworth and Kay will walk away and pass by Will Powers and Adrian Andrews, who will then be joined by Larry Butz. Then the Delites will arrive on Desiree's motorcycle.
Hmm, Edgeworth has met the Proto Badger before. Who is it? The suspense! Maybe it's Jake Marshall. Or...Larry! Except, would Larry call Edgeworth "sir"?
"Telltale pants": the name of my future hypothetical band.
Maaaan, Lang is so hot that I had to stop playing just now and make an lj icon out of him. I think I will use it for this very post. So meta!
Oh, good, I was getting worried that Lauren's father was going to be the big reveal. I need to stop doubting these games.
Oh, good, I was getting worried that Lance's involvement was going to be the big reveal. Stop doubting the games, self! Geez!
Lance with the revolver in the haunted house! I bet the translator squealed with glee when s/he realized that s/he could make a Clue reference. Or maybe that's just me.
Little Thief is so useful. OMG, you could use it to make porn. Kink meme, here I come.
Holy crap, you can interact with people and objects created by Little Thief! Porn tiem! Edgeworth/Edgeworth?
"Yes, I suppose I am also to blame for what happened to me." Edgeworth blames the victim.
"Perhaps, they were just destined to battle each other. (Much like the Steel Samurai and the Evil Magistrate...)" GOD, Edgeworth, does EVERYTHING remind you of the Steel Samurai?
"[M]ust've went"? Surely this is just Lance's speaking style, and not that of an actual Capcom employee who was actually paid actual money to "edit" this game.
KG-8 incident! I hope it's as interesting as the DL-6 incident and the SL-9 incident.
Holy crap, it's Portsman!
I like how Lang is like, "Edgeworth, are you corrupt?" and Edgeworth is like, "Why, no, I'm not," and Lang is like, "Oh...are you sure?" and Edgeworth is like, "It's true! I'm not," and Lang is like, "Oh, okay, never mind then."
I love love love that people are talking about Manfred von Karma in this game. Dramatic Edgeworth backstory!
Eeeee I wanna know why Lang is so angry with the courts too! This is going to be good.
Badass Lang and Shih-na pointing is badass. Dare I say...almost prosecutorial?
The Lang family sounds like the Fey family. I do not understand how these revered, powerful families are being taken down by isolated incidents of corruption by other people.
I adore this wrap-up music so much.
GASP!!!! OMG OMG OMG BACKSTORY AHOY!!!
