FMA chapter 97
Jul. 9th, 2009 07:56 pmOh god, I forgot Bradley was missing until I saw some people in a
hagaren_manga post saying "I knew he wasn't dead!" Was that supposed to be some kind of cliffhanger? If so, it's almost as bad as that one time when I guess we were supposed to think Ed was dead.
Title Page Young Hohenheim is pretty cool, especially back-to-back with Ed, but then I approve of anything Hohenheim-related these days. He's just so awesome! Especially in this chapter, with his calm, levelheaded badassery and his Phoenix Wright pointing. Oh, Hohenheim. I am a little bit in love with you.
You know, it's creepy enough for me to watch Father (...Truth? Homunculus?) shed his human skin, but I can only imagine what it must be like for Hohenheim, who is watching something that LOOKS LIKE HIM ripped open from the inside by a being who then leaves it, deflated and empty like a balloon, on the floor. And then eats it, apparently.
I like how Bradley takes out a tank and then Buccaneer and then like three pages later Buccaneer just kind of bounces back. Buccaneer: more resilient than a tank.
"I'm sorry, Colonel Mustang. I'm going to die here." FALMAN.
Ling! Greed! Whoever you are! Hooray!
...
... In conclusion, FALMAN. I think that was the most heartbreaking line to date in the FMA manga, possibly even beating out "Our mother's hair was chestnut brown. This is black!" "I'm sorry, Colonel Mustang. I'm going to die here." FALMAN.
