Hotel Dusk is good! Honestly, I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending. I know it's supposed to evoke film noir, but I prefer something happier. I mean, it's not like I need all the young single people to hook up and adopt all the sickeningly cute orphans with no families to live happily ever after and for world peace to blossom in a cloud of song with rainbows blooming and metaphors mixing and for all this to happen in a single night...I just like a more complete resolution is all. You know, for each character's Big Problem to be solved, even if their lives still aren't perfect. Kind of like in Phoenix Wright, and I swore I wasn't going to compare them anymore, but damned if they aren't seriously really similar apart from the graphics, and apart from the moments where I forgot I wasn't playing Professor Layton. THERE WERE MATCHSTICKS. MATCHSTICKS. Anyway, it was good times but now it's over, and not a moment too soon, because today I got Wii Music! You guys, I have been looking forward to this ever since it was just a rumor, and I have been reading the legitimate criticism and fanboy whining in the months since it became a reality (albeit an unreleased one), and I thought to myself then and am saying to you now, I DON'T CARE. I've played it for almost two hours already, and only broke for dinner and House and writing this lj post, and as soon as I'm done I am going right back.
But first I have some more stuff to say.
Heroes is also good! It has been lately, anyway. I've been loving the plot twists, both on their own merits and because they give my mom and me something to talk about during the commercials. My mom comes over to watch Heroes with me, which is pretty awesome and works out for everyone--I get to have company at my place, and she gets to watch TV on a screen with about eight times the area of the one at her house. The reception isn't as good, but Heroes is so dark anyway that it hardly matters.
I love having people over, because it gives me an excuse to bake things. Yesterday I totally made pumpkin pie. The name of the recipe was "So Easy Pumpkin Pie," which is all well and good and might have even been accurate if it were a recipe printed on a can and not on a sticker attached to the bottom of a pumpkin. On the bright side, I now know how to make pumpkin pie from scratch!
Okay, getting kind of rambly now. Back to Wii Music.
