I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED PLAYING IT YET AND ALREADY I LOVE IT. THE MENU IMAGE! IT IS A LITTLE REVOLVING 3D MODEL WITH TINY 3D PHOENIX IN HIS OFFICE ON ONE SIDE AND TINY LITTLE APOLLO AND THE GIRL WHOSE NAME I DON'T KNOW YET IN COURT ON THE OTHER! I LOVE EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING IS THE BEST.
I'm opening it, I'm opening it! Ooh, Capcom logo is pretty.
OH MY GOD! I SAID I WAS DONE CAPSLOCKING BUT I JUST CAN'T AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS OPENING CUTSCENE HOLY FREAKING CRAP! I should mention that aside from the promo images on the Nintendo eShop and the knowledge that the game takes place after AJ and Phoenix has become a lawyer again, I am completely 100% unspoiled for the game, so I didn't know what to expect, but IT WAS NOT THIS. OH MY GOD MY LIFE IS A LIE, NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN, PHOENIX WRIGHT IS FULLY VOICED. PHOENIX PHOENIX PHOENIX!

I like Apollo's new character design!
Oh, her name is Athena. I have read that somewhere, come to think of it. I was a little wary of her in the opening cutscene (Aww, tripping over her own feet! So cute! Barf) but her speech patterns and internal monologue are similar to past player characters, so that's reassuring.
Exploring the interface a bit. There are two save slots! And a script log! Truly the future is now.
The music isn't claiming my soul yet, but it's pretty nice.

Oooh, badass court opening animation. It reminds me a lot of the movie. Probably not a coincidence.
Hmm, okay, this Widget business seems like it would be a liability in court?
Payne's new design is weirding me out.
Uhhh, apparently Payne's got a new voice, too. I guess in the AA-verse, boys' voices change at age 55?

How is it that Phoenix in his 30s is so much hotter than Phoenix in his 20s, even though he looks almost exactly the same?
Ooh, there's free DLC! The future is now! The best part is that you can just watch Phoenix in his three-piece suit, rotating, rotating.
Random German Alert (RGA)! Is "Auf geht's!" an actual thing English-speaking people say, or are we supposed to think Athena speaks German? Because unlike Klavier, she seems to be using it correctly. Or maybe it's just that she says it in English in the original version and the localization team is just doing the Japanese:English::English:German thing again. That's probably it.
