Okay, I know alter!Hughes isn't actually a Nazi. And I know everybody is very relieved about this.>
But really, would it be so horrible if he were?
There are a whole bunch of arguments I could drag out here regarding the varying levels of loyalty members of the German army actually had to the Nazi party and the fact that not all of them were personally responsible for actually rounding people up and herding them into gas chambers; plenty of them probably did nothing more than sit at desks and fill out forms, which is, guess what, probably what alter!Hughes' job would be. Were he a Nazi. Which he isn't. Not that everybody who fought (or processed paperwork) for that side was actually a Nazi anyway. And I for one am on board with all of these arguments. But you know what? It just doesn't bother me all that much. And there is nothing more fun than watching people flip out on the internet at the mention of the word Nazi. Nazi Nazi Nazi. Tee hee.
