Oh, and just for good measure, Fuck You Too Baal!
All right, the gemütlich machen has been delayed just a few minutes so that I can talk about why I like Kafka's Erzählungen. It's a collection of short (really short) stories, and of the several I have now read, not a single one contains the following:
-Death of the narrator or main character
-Death of the narrator or main character's romantic interest or closest friend
-Murder of the narrator or main character's entire family by the narrator or main character
-Sex or equally strong juxtaposition between the narrator or main character and (since it's always male) a woman significantly older (like, more than twenty years) than he is
-Sex between the narrator or main character and his 20-year-old daughter ewwwww squiiiiick fuck you Max Frisch
It has been So Long since I've read anything written in German that didn't include at least one of those things. Even if I just happen to have read the exact parts of Erzählungen that were such, I kinda want to hug Kafka and say thank you.
