Things That Make Me Feel Ashamed
A list:
1. First of all, "subgroup" is abstract algebra jargon that means more or less what you might think it means. Teh Lucy (a friend/fellow math major) and I were leaving the dining hall to go study and were joined by Teh Allison (friend/fellow math major also in the class). She asked where we were going, we told her, and she said, "oh, so you guys are working as a subgroup of the abstract algebra class!" Not only did we think this was absolutely hysterical, but when we got to Lucy's room we started discussing the criteria for any proper subgroup of the class, and whether the two of us by ourselves met it. (Conclusion: Lucy and I alone are not a subgroup, but Lucy,
myrtlelarson, and I are.)
2. Spoiler!Akito. Oh, and the circumstances under which I chose Shigure as my Fruits Basket boyfriend.
3. Last night, the crackwhores (
myrtlelarson,
gweniveeve,
octopedingenue, and
clodia_risa) and I got slighly tipsy and decided to ask the Agnes Scott student body via Public Folders whether they knew of any good, non-skanky "adult novelty" stores around. So we posted it under my name, and are now thinking that the wording may have implied I was looking to purchase a vibrator. Okay, I have nothing against vibrators as such, but that wasn't it, I swear!
There are many more, I'm sure of it, but I can't think of others at the moment. Oh, but here's something that I'm actually quite proud of, to end on a happy note: today I got an e-mail telling me that I had won a $2000 scholarship for Germany next semester! Yay! So the money I spent on postage and blank tapes and the time I spent writing that essay were not in vain.
