There is nothing quite like getting drunk with your mother's whole family.
In other news, I got the informational package with my housing information from IES today. Yay! If I've measured the distances on the map correctly, I'll be living just over a kilometer away from the IES center and the university. On the opposite side of the train tracks. It'll be just like being at ASC, it will.
Anyway, I was trying to figure out exactly how long a walk a-little-over-a-kilometer is. Since it's half a mile, I tried thinking of it as two laps around a track. That didn't really help. So I did a couple minutes of online research and found that once around a level at the Mall of America is .57 miles, meaning that half a mile is maybe about the distance from DSW to Macy's, if you go the long way around. So, not bad at all.
The informational package also contained a list of program participants. Whee, stalking opportunity! There are seven people from Minnesota (out of the fifty-seven on the list, so we're pretty well represented): four from the U, and two from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. I'd be the one going to school out of state. None of the other six live very near me, woe. I guess it doesn't really matter, it just would have been cool if there were somebody who lived in a city I knew how to get to without a map.

gweniveeve and myrtlelarson are going to Scotland tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned, that's just two more people who are leaving me to go be busy, while I sit at home bored out of my mind. Never mind that I haven't seen them since December and during break have only spoken to each of them once. Perhaps I should go to bed now. Yes.
