Faust Club stuff

Hey Agnes Scott people, past and present.

If you hadn't heard, Nicoline got the Fulbright, so make sure to congratulate her. If not in person, on Facebook or something.

Yet another accomplishment for the ASC German program, which I like to think will make an impression on the Board of Trustees or whoever is responsible for cutting entire departments.

On that note, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that EMS (Event Management Services, the people all the organizations have to go through to reserve space on campus) is currently so profoundly incompetent that they have somehow managed to inconvenience EVERY SINGLE EVENT Faust Club has had this year, which includes failing to help us schedule a big event for the semester, unless you count sitting on our room request form(s!) for three weeks and then telling us that the room is unavailable at that particular time even though the online calendar would lead us to believe otherwise to be helpful. So, no Osterfest. FUCK YOU, EMS.

The good news is that this frees up a good amount of our budget; specifically, about $350. So we're buying ourselves a Crock-Pot! Yes! And a nice laminated banner from Kinko's! And we're going to build a small movie collection. Our VP wants "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei" to be one of the movies we get, so I told her that my last request as co-president of Faust Club was to have a Daniel Brühl marathon of some sort next year. As I see it, this is a great idea for two reasons: 1) Daniel Brühl is adorable; and 2) Americans might actually recognize his face, if not his name.

So, yeah. The good and the bad. And it looks like we do have an exec board lined up for next year, which is the really important thing.

Why is the Nichtlustig crack parrot my only German icon? I could at least have some from Monster, or something.
